Understanding Tea Sizes & Weights
Hopefully this information will give you a better understanding of what you can expect in one of our tea bags orders.
The amount of tea in two ounces varies depending on the tea, as certain teas are denser than others. The contrasts between white tea, rooibos tea, and black tea are highlighted in the photographs below. In general, two ounces of tea will provide you with a great cup of tea every day for a month!
One teaspoon of loose tea per 8 ounces is the industry standard. If you want to steep a twelve-ounce cup of tea, use approximately 1 1/2 teaspoons of loose tea.
Why are some bags more full than others?
Because of the density of tea, some bags may appear to contain more tea than others; however, all of our teas are meticulously weighed before being sealed and distributed.
